New Iraklitsa is a seaside settlement at Kavala prefecture. At New Iraklitsa there is a quaint little port-marina, taverns and beach. The beach of Nea Irakleitsa called “Alana” has beach bars and volleyball courts. The beach was awarded with the blue flag and is considered one of the best of Kavala. There are also organized parking, sailing clubs and football courts.
One of the main attractions is the church of Panagia Faneromeni with the miraculous image which according to tradition has painted by Luke the Evangelist. The church celebrates the novena of Mary, when it is the village fair.
Opposite New Iraklitsa are the Fidonisi -which is private property- and Arethousa islets.
