The castle is located in the village of Myrtousa, 18km from Stavroupoli. It was built at around 340 BC and 614m on a hill to control the surrounding area. In the Byzantine era in the castle were settled troops of Vasileios Voulgaroktonou, Alexios Komnenos, and other emperors of Byzantium. Today only ruins remains.
