The Citadel of Ancient Thassos
At the top of the hill at a height of 137 meters, above the ancient market is the citadel. Citadel was fortified with marble walls and was the last defense in an emergency. The wall of the citadel was constructed in the Archaic period. However at various times, was repaired and strengthened. Walking beside it, easily discern the different phases.
